Pageant Judges for the 2006 Pageant


Joseph F. Baca, New Mexico Supreme Court Justice (ret.)

Justice Baca was a member of the New Mexico Supreme Court from 1989 until July 2003, serving as Chief Justice from 1994 to 1996. He was District Judge for the Second Judicial District, Albuquerque, from 1972-1988.  Justice Baca was born in Albuquerque, NM, and received his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico. He is also a graduate of the George Washington University Law School (J.D., 1964, LL.D., 1997) and the University of Virginia Law School (LL.M., 1992). Justice Baca is married to Dorothy Lee Baca. They have three grown daughters.



Amanda Foor, Miss Teen New Mexico International 2003

Amanda has been involved with pageantry for over 15 years as a contestant, judge, and coach.  She has held various titles on local, state, and national levels with her most recent title being Miss Teen New Mexico International 2003.  Amanda competed at the Miss Teen International Pageant in Chicago, Illinois.  She is a 2006 graduate of the University of New Mexico and holds a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications and is eager to start a career in public relations.  Amanda lives in Albuquerque with her husband Jeremy and she plans on competing for the title of Mrs. New Mexico America in the near future.



Ed Burch, Owner, Gold Cup Gymnastics

Ed Burch is owner and head coach of Gold Cup Gymnastics School in Albuquerque.  His travels all over the world have taken him to the various international meets.  He has led gymnasts to national titles and international medals - including multiple gold medals in three different Olympics.  Burch's most notable gymnasts include Olympic team members Lance Ringnald, John Roesthlisberger, Chainey Umphrey, Chris Waller, and gold medalist Trent Dimas.  Burch was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame in August of 2002.  He served in the air force from 1969-1971, attended the University of New Mexico, and received his Special Education degree with a minor in Physical Education.  Holding a black belt in Karate and Judo, he competed in regional and national competitions while a teen.  Burch is married to Kay and has two grown children.  For more information see goldcupgymnastics.com.

Diana Keith, Owner, Dianna Keith Music Lessons

Diana Keith is a dedicated piano and voice teacher who enjoys educating a full schedule of private students in her studio in Albuquerque, NM.  Her 24 years of teaching include college as well as public and private school teaching experience in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.  Miss Diana enjoys being able to teach a wide variety of ages and abilities in both voice and piano, and she is also the accompanist for the Cibola High School Treble and Concert Choirs.  She enjoys composing piano and voice music.



Janice Lujan, Owner, The Phoenix Agency

Janice Lujan , owner of The Phoenix Agency, grew up in California and has been in the entertainment industry acting and modeling from a very young age.  An agent for 5 years in the New Mexico market, Lujan believes New Mexico is a great place to start a career in the business.  Hers is the largest talent agency in New Mexico representing over 500 models and actors.   For more on The Phoenix Agency, see

Dr. Michelle Barry, Ms. New Mexico Galaxy

Michelle Barry is a Forensic Pathologist and the current Ms. New Mexico Galaxy.  She will compete for the Ms. Galaxy International title in Orlando, Florida July 25-30. 

As a survivor with heart disease, Dr. Barry has been active in her community with the American Heart Association and has volunteered during her reign as Ms. New Mexico at the American Heart Walk and celebrated Go Red for Women, which campaigns to increase awareness for heart disease in women.  She currently is participating in research that involves a grant for the Center of Disease Control (CDC) focused on infectious disease and bioterrorism surveillance in her home state of New Mexico.  Her current additional research interests include herbal remedies in children. 

As a Forensic Pathologist, Dr. Barry sees daily the importance of informing the public of emerging and current health concerns.  Dr. Barry participates in monthly public service radio announcements on topics ranging from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), to bike helmet safety, to colon cancer prevention that are aired throughout the state of New Mexico.  She also composes a monthly article entitled “A Health Tip” for the Medical Investigator Newsletter. 

Dr. Barry has been a mentor in the Big Brother’s Big Sister’s program for five years and continues her mentoring of women in medicine with the American Medical Women’s Association.  When not traveling around the United States presenting research and workshops at international forensic meetings, Dr. Barry finds time for international travel, SCUBA diving, and brushing up on her flamenco dancing skills.


Marty Murphy

Marty Murphy has been performing and coaching dance since 1989.  He has performed with Contemporary Dance Ensemble, Ballet Theatre of New Mexico, Prince Ballet, Chamberlain Ballet, and Center Stage School of Dance in lead and supporting roles.  He has recently begun teaching and choreographing, and discovered another wonderful dimension of dance.  Marty is a native of New Mexico and is an engineer at Sandia National Laboratories.
