Gallery - National Competition 2006
National competition is another
opportunity to gain experience in
presenting yourself in public, showing off your talents, and of course,
having a great time in Orlando Florida! You'll meet many other
interesting girls and young women from across the United States through
the many events at Nationals that encourage fun and time together for
the contestants. Parties, gift exchanges, and time at Disney
World with your pageant division are all part of the fun!
Nationals are not quite as easy as the state competitions because the
girls
are competing against winners from every state, and often with girls
who have returned
to nationals for multiple years. While you should focus upon
winning,
that is not the only thing you should focus upon in a competition like
Nationals. There is much more to be gained than a national
crown! Attending Nationals is an investment in learning more and
gaining more experiences for you or your queen. Keep your
eyes open, do your best, and of course, make sure to have fun!
This page shows national competition for the 2006 year.

Part of the experience at
nationals is meeting with and supporting other queens from your
state. New Mexico Director Michele Duran Skroch met with all the
queens before Nationals events to wish them luck, provide last minute
advice, and provide some good-luck gifts. |

Kalila Pack, from Clovis,
NM, was 2nd runner up in our 2006 Sweetheart competition. She
chose to attend Nationals as Miss Clovis, and also received the honor
of being 2006 National Cover Girl. She was awarded that banner
and crown at Nationals, and in that capacity presented various awards
and participated in various events.

Preparation for Nationals
|
Preparation for Nationals begins shortly after State Finals. Many
communities rally to support the representative from their community in
fund raising events, good luck parties, and other celebrations.
In these pictures, you see a party held for Madison Belcher, Dora, NM,
by her teacher. Madison is our 2006 NM State Princess Queen.
Events like these, often organized by our Queen's parents or friends,
help share the excitement of Nationals and prepare our Queens for the
national-level competition.
