Gallery - Events 2006

Take a tour of the fun, excitement, and experience contestants and royalty have while participating in New Mexico American Coed Pageant activities!  We've collected a few pictures that represent the type of things you'll be involved with in the American Coed Pageant program.

Serving in the capacity of State Queens and Hostesses, you'll have a chance to participate in various events while representing the pageant and performing public services.  It's great experience in public speaking, presentation, and learning how to help others in a public setting. On top of that, it's a lot of fun!

This page shows events from the 2006 pageant year.

2006 Simon Evening of Giving
19 Nov 2006

Two of our New Mexico Royalty volunteered at this local charity event.  During the Simon Evening and Day of Giving 2006 at Cottonwood Mall, retailers offered exclusive deals to their guests. All charities and organizations were invited to participate and benefit from this one-of-a-kind fundraiser through ticket sales. Of the funds generated, 60 to 70 percent from each ticket directly benefited the organization selling the ticket.  The remaining balance per ticket benefits Simon Youth Foundation.

Ashlynn Ota and Bianca Otero volunteered to help distribute product donated to the Evening of Giving event.

Ashlynn brought her brother to help!

The mission of Simon Youth Foundation (SYF) is to foster and improve educational opportunities, career development, and life skills for at-risk youth through focused programs and initiatives.
To achieve our mission, SYF has two primary programs that it focuses its time and resources on.

2006 New Mexico State Fair Parade - 9 Sep 06

Our girls and float won 1st place in the New Mexico State Fair Parade under the "Queens Float" section this year!

We were one of 205 entries that thrilled those watching along a 2.2 mile parade path down Central Avenue - old Route 66 in Albuquerque.  We thank Expo New Mexico - The State Fair and the Judges for this honor.

Last year we won 1st place in the "Queens Group" -- see the 2005 Gallery page for this award, which was a plaque rather than a ribbon.
