Take a tour of the fun, excitement, and experience contestants and royalty have while participating in New Mexico American Coed Pageant activities!  We've collected a few pictures that represent the type of things you'll be involved with in the American Coed Pageant program.

Serving in the capacity of State Queens and Hostesses, you'll have a chance to participate in various events while representing the pageant and performing public services.  It's great experience in public speaking, presentation, and learning how to help others in a public setting. On top of that, it's a lot of fun!

This page shows pageant events from the current year.

Practice Day - Albuquerque
  September 8th, 2007

After the New Mexico State Fair Parade, those girls going to nationals in November gathered at the Taylor Ranch Community Center to practice for their national competition events.   Queens are required to attend Nationals to represent their state and compete for the national title of Queen.  Runners up to Queens and those with titles of Hostesses, Ambassador, Miss Victory, Miss Glamour, and winners of optional competitions may attend Nationals to compete for National Miss Victory or optional competitions.  During the gathering, some contestants gathered to retake individual and group pictures.

New Mexico State Fair - Albuquerque

Winner of Fantasy Award - Most Whimsical

ALBUQUERQUE - A big part of the “biggest show in New Mexico” is the annual State Fair Parade. And the 2007 parade was no exception…247 organizational units participated in the parade which was witnessed by more than 50,000 people, making it one of the largest parades in the history of New Mexico!

The New Mexico State Fair Parade proceeds east on Historic Route 66, Central Avenue, from the parade grounds near Louisa's Blvd. to Eubank Blvd, just over two miles.  Thousands of people come out about four to five rows deep on each side of the road along that entire route.

This year's float featured 13 girls under a crown and light canopy.  Each of their names was displayed on a crown on the side around the float.  We had a bubble machine inside the crown on top and one in the back of the truck pulling the float, a hit with all the kids along the parade route.

We set up along historic Route 66, Central Ave, in Albuquerque.
